Turn right at gate to the Buccaneer Hotel and tell the guard you are going to the beach. Park at the end of the road and proceed across the road to the path. It leads to the fine sandy beach. This is surrounded by private residences and there are limited facilities. You may picnic here but please keep the beach clean. Grab the camera, the views of Buck Island are terrific. This is a long sandy beach and usually quiet. The west end is great for snorkeling while the east is best for swimming. The water has a sandy bottom but you will find quite a few shells there.

St. Croix Southside Beaches are a large cluster of white sandy beaches that run along the coast of the south side of St. Croix.

Grap Tree Beach is a secluded beach boasting a tranquil experience away from bustling beaches. Issac’s Bay is a secluded location that has been maintained by the Nature Conservancy. Issac’s Bay is home to Hawksbill and Green Turtle nests, therefore driving is prohibited on the beaches, making it accessible only by hiking. Most visitors find the best hiking trail is from Point Udall, taking the trail that starts just before the Millennium Monument. Over 400 species of tropical fish call this coastal reef home, so make sure to grab your snorkeling gear. The long stretch of sandy beach and great barrier reef make the short hike well worth your experience.

In Italian Tutto Benne translates to “Everything Good.” Tutto Benne has recently moved locations in order to supply their growing public with off street parking, more seating, a bigger bar, and a more modern kitchen. This restaurant offers traditional southern Italian dishes and prepares an assortment of daily specials.

Tutto Benne features dishes like an “Eggplant Caprese Tower” “Fettuccini Chicken Carbonara” “Blackened Local Whole Tilapia” and “Roasted Rack of Lamb.”  Their dishes range from appetizers around 9-15 dollars, and main dishes averaging at 21-35 dollars.

This recently opened restaurant is gathering a lot of attention for their home styled meals that are rich with flavor.

The Pickled Greek’s menu features Greek favorites such as dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), souvlaki  (kebob),  gyros (Greek tacos served on pita bread),  and mousaka (eggplant based dish). The Pickled Greek was recently voted St. Croix’s “Best New Restaurant/Bar 2009″ by the readers of the daily news. Their head chef Aaron Matlofsky & The Pickled Greek also came in Second Place for Best Appetizer at the “Taste of St. Croix 2009″ competition.

Bacchus is a local restaurant in downtown Christiansted that has won its fame through delicious food and excellent service.  Going by the motto “It’s all about the love,” this restaurant is all about loving their job, and making sure people love their food.

The menu at Bacchus is packed with flavor and serves up the freshest seafood of the day. The Virgin Islands Sustainable Farm Institute sprawls over 100 acres of the highlands of northwest St. Croix. The highlands are infamous for their verdant hills and hidden valleys that make up the flourishing landscape of VISFI. In early 2003 the founders began nurturing the farm and pastures into a thriving landscape of orchards and gardens. Stroll the land and make your way through large bamboo groves and glistening ponds that are home to tilapia and other local fish. VISFI supports organic agriculture and encourages educational learning to support a clean ecosystem and maintain a healthy environment for our predecessors.

The Caribbean Museum Center for Arts is a beautiful venue that features local artists works from digital photography, drawings, and more. While this museum features a large amount of artistic work, it is also a center of educational experiences. This museum holds weekly classes in pottery making, print media, drawing classes, clay classes, and more. CMCArts’ provides a spacious setting for exhibition galleries and includes working art studios and classrooms, a fully equipped pottery studio, gift shop, offices and protected courtyard for performances and events. Buddhoe Park is a small shady park serves a great historical symbol for much of the African American population of St. Croix. On July 3, 1848, General Buddhoe congregated thousands of armed salves and demanded their freedom. Today hundreds of people fill the streets of Frederikstead across from Buddhoe Park to celebrate the anniversary of emancipation of slavery. Each year key speakers come to celebrate the bravery and sacrifices of their ancestors, and pay homage to their valiant efforts. Festivities also include live music, traditional African ceremonies, and a group prayer.
