Petroglyhps Trail

Petroglyphs are rock engravings of images that are created by removing part of a rock surface by pecking, carving, and abrading a rock until the desired image is created. The Petroglyphs Trail lies within the Reef Bay trail, a trail about five miles outside of Cruz Bay located on Route 10. This trail is in an area known as the “Petroglyph Falls” due to the small waterfalls and streams that surround these historic carvings. These historic petroglyph engravings date back to the early Arawak Indians. The Petroglyphs Trail is covered by shade from the native plants and trees, and allows for a scenic tour of St. Johns picturesque landscape and historical carvings.

Reef Bay Trail

The Reef Bay Trail is a National Park trail that is roughly three miles in length. You can find this trail about five miles outside of Cruz Bay, on Route Ten. Begin your walk of Reef Bay Trail at an elevation of 900 feet, walking through the dense tropical forest of St. John, and slowly travel down to the dazzling Caribbean ocean.

Elaine Ione Sprauve Library And Museum

The Elaine Ione Sprauve Library And Museum features an array of historic information related to St. John. This museum is home to a collection of photographs, documents, and historical artifacts that come from the historically rich island of St. John. Elaine Ione Sprauve Library And Museum also holds a collection of information relating to the natural history of the island. At this museum vistors and residents can also look at a collection of archaeological photographs relating to St. John. Unlike typical libraries this library museum offers literature discussions, Spanish classes, story hours, and craft classes. Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
